The design features an elegant storage solution that discretely hides the television and electronic devices, promoting a tidy and organised living area while highlighting the designer bookshelf. The horizontal lines are accentuated with a black finish to emphasize the linear aspect, and the top set of drawers reflects the design of the cabinet's pedestal.
This innovative double-sided built-in chest of drawers enabled the retention of the original master bedroom door while maximizing space in the walk-in robe (WIR). In the WIR, a modern laminated finish contrasts with the wood tones in the bedroom, which were chosen to blend seamlessly with the existing wood finishes throughout the house.
The defining characteristic of this compact square kitchen is its sense of openness, achieved through floor-to-ceiling cupboards along the eastern wall and the addition of a custom double-glazed window facing north, allowing for ample natural light. The sense of spaciousness is further enhanced by the absence of overhead cupboards and a traditional range hood.
This custom-made furniture piece was crafted for a family with an active lifestyle, requiring additional storage by the main entrance situated in the living area. We designed a tailored and organised storage cabinet that blends effortlessly into the open space. The choice of American Rock Maple veneer ensures visual harmony with the original bamboo flooring, while matching the wall and cabinet colors allows the piece to integrate seamlessly into the surroundings.
It all started with an idea and a sketch...
The design concept for this 1970s bathroom was to increase natural light and create an illusion of expanded space. To enhance the sense of spaciousness, the addition of a skylight and the installation of a custom wall-to-wall mirror were crucial. A pivotal change was swapping the positions of the original shower and vanity, resulting in a more spacious wall-hung vanity and a larger shower area. The clever placement of the hinged frameless shower glass contributes to the effectiveness of the layout. The final design is original, practical, and aesthetically pleasing, complemented by a sleek selection of materials for an elegant finish.

Embracing Openness,
The client requested a design with an emphasis on creating more openness, with an extra large kitchen as the focal point. To achieve this, we knocked down a few walls that created unnecessary nooks and walkways. We incorporated a strut window to opens outwards to the verandah, seamlessly connecting the indoor and outdoor spaces. A smaller entrance fitted with tailored storage cabinetry was recreated to privatise one side of the house wing, guiding the flow directly towards the kitchen and dining area also creating a more private and cosy lounge area. The lounge, now discreetly hidden behind a newly extended wall, creates a sense of separation while maintaining the overall open feel. Upon entry, you are immediately drawn to the heart of the home—the kitchen and dining space.
We also took the opportunity to shift the master bedroom wall, creating a desk nook in the heart of the living space, and giving the master the necessary extra room to allow for a new wardrobe space. To maintain the open concept, we used wall paneling to cleverly conceal the master bedroom door, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the space.
For this project, the client sought to establish a fluid connection between the indoor space and the back garden. To achieve this, we completely revisited the existing interior, shifting the laundry, bathroom, and kitchen. The kitchen now benefits from expansive views of the garden, courtesy of a large benchtop window above the cooktop and another by the sink. We further enhanced the sense of openness by creating a large opening from the new living area onto the garden.
The combination of the windows has increased the natural light flowing into the south-facing space, creating a warm, bright atmosphere throughout the day. Despite its simplicity, the design offers a cosy, intimate feel while embracing the openness that the client desired. The space effortlessly blurs the lines between indoors and outdoors, providing a perfect setting for entertaining or relaxing.
